Rare Finds Announce East Coast Circuit For Emerging Artists featuring songstress Ayla and guest artists

Sydney-based boutique PR & artist management company, Rare Finds are proud to announce their new East Coast touring circuit launching in January 2018 – Presented by Oporto and Pilerats, and supported by Mountain Goat Beer and Arthur St. Studios.

The Rare Finds circuit will showcase curated line-ups of Australia’s most-promising emerging talent once a month across the East Coast. It’s the next progression for Rare Finds after the agency has been successfully running nights in Brisbane and Sydney over the past two years.

Managing Director of Rare Finds, Rob Carroll describes the motivation behind the project:

“The Rare Finds nights serve to foster a scene within the Australian indie community and provide a strong live platform for outstanding emerging artists. One of the biggest challenges faced by artists, managers and agents at the early stages of an artist’s career, is developing a live following. With the launch of our Melbourne event, we’re now able to provide an East Coast touring platform to new acts, so they can play to ready-made crowds, which largely consist of industry, taste makers and the core local indie community”.

The first circuit run will be headlined by QLD Sunshine Coast-based artist, Ayla, who has just revealed new single ‘Porcelain Doll’ and news of her forthcoming sophomore EP ‘Let’s Talk Monday’ (due January 12) – produced by Sam Cromack (Ball Park Music). Ayla is currently performing for sold out crowds as national support for Kim Churchill's ‘Weight Falls’ album tour.

Rare Finds has been operating since 2011, specialising in digital music servicing, management consultancy, publicity and label services for undiscovered Australian artists. Previous and current clients include Megan Washington, Dune Rats, The Griswolds, Dappled Cities, Bootleg Rascal, Deep Sea Arcade, Ocean Alley, Mookhi, The Lulu Raes, Cub Sport and WHARVES.

Sunshine Coast singer/songwriter Shristi Jade releases debut EP

Shristi Jade is a recording artist and songwriter originally from the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Her debut self titled EP "Shristi Jade" was released on June 30, 2017.  The EP features lead single "Own", a song that showcases Shristi's angelic vocals and pristine songwriting.

From a young age, Shristi Jade loved singing and performing. She was always writing poems, not realising that they would one day become songs. She has cited her major influences as Jhene Aiko, Mariah Carey and Brandy.

Back in 2015, when Shristi attended Los Angeles Fashion Week, she connected with LA based, multi-talented artists “The One” and “QB”. Following this meeting, she had a recording session with Tochi Uzo, where a promising artistic bond began.

Following this, her music career came to fruition when she had the opportunity to work and record with James Russell, the creator of Heliport Studios in the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Heliport Studios is owned by best selling authors Barbara and Alan Pease, working with the likes of international superstar, Rihanna.

Since then, Shristi Jade has been writing and recording music in studios across LA, the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne and London.

To further her flourishing music career, she has moved to London where she is working with talented producer NOSA Appollo, recording tracks at the Chocolate Factory, which has hosted artists such as Bobbi Lewis, Kz The Producer and Longlivtheplug.

THE EP

Shristi Jade's three track debut EP is brought to life through her ethereal sound. The record reflects a young woman's journey through losing herself to a betrayal of the heart.

The EP comes out at a personal and musical transition for Shristi Jade.

"Every song on the EP was inspired and written after I made a decision to live a life which was true to my passion," she said. The themes are present not only in the music, but in the album art design created by Brisbane based artist, Mosessa.

"The album art represents a true version of myself, wearing a traditional Nepalese sari. It was important for me to present myself in a way that showcases the way I was bought up."

Shristi Jade's father is from Nepal and her mother is Australian.

"I have always felt so proud to be part of two unique cultures. While writing the EP, I was inspired by my upbringing and the notion of "knowing thyself."

"Shristi Jade" EP is available on all digital music outlets.

Sunshine-Coast Indie-Pop quartet Selahphonics' new single 'Had Our Heaven'

Carving out a reputation as one of Australia’s hardest working independent indie-pop bands, Sunshine Coast-based Selahphonic recently unveiled their new single ‘Had Our Heaven’ – The lead track lifted from their forthcoming and debut EP ‘Therapy’ - Recorded at Cooper Lane Studio, Sydney by Chris Collins (Gang of Youths, Tigertown, Middle Kids).

Keeping in line with their signature anthemic stadium pop sound, ‘Had Our Heaven’ glimmers with synth-laden hooks, infectious lead-guitar licks and is backed by a simple, yet sturdy and bouncing rhythm section; all combining to complement the catchy sing-a-long melodies of endearing front man, Jamie Coyle.

Since their inception in 2011, Selahphonic have released a slew of standout singles widely embraced by various media platforms, including tastemaker blogs Crack in The Road (USA), Acid Stag (AUS), Pilerats (AUS), stellar reviews and rotation via triple j Unearthed and other key support from the likes of MTV, Tone Deaf and The Music.

In 2016, the group maintained a consistent touring schedule, including a performance at Australia’s largest music industry conference, BIGSOUND, where they caught the attention of one of the countries most esteemed booking agencies, The Harbour Agency, who signed the quartet immediately.

As well as constantly traversing through local live music venues, Selahphonic have put together DIY backyard show tours and performed globally, which includes appearances at showcases and festivals Culture Collide, CMJ and Canadian Music Week.

“A solid attempt right here at the stadium pop sound of The Wombats and Two Door Cinema Club."
Dom Alessio – triple j (AUS)
“Selahphonic have captivated listeners’ attention with their own unique and energetic power-pop vibes."
Happy (AUS)
