Charismatic wordsmith Citizen Kay returns with infectious jam in ‘EGO’...a hot dose of soulful funky grooves

Charismatic wordsmith Citizen Kay returns with yet another infectious jam in ‘EGO’. Bursting with attitude and swirling synths, Citizen Kay’s voice rides smoothly over the layers of disco grooves. ‘EGO' is sure to become a regular party-starter with funk-filled bass-line, technicolor keys, rush of sax, strings and positivity in tow.

Speaking about the single, CK explains “‘EGO’ might seem like a song about me chasing a long lost love or something, but it's my love-hate relationship with money.

Migrating to Australia from Ghana at the age of six, Citizen Kay’s made it his mission to make music blending both cultures and includes shades of traditional hip-hop, soul, funk, jazz and rock. This ambition has propelled him to two ARIA nominations for albums ‘Demokracy’ (2014) and ‘We The People’ (2015), with all three previous albums taking out top ten spots in US College Hip-Hop Charts abroad, and an invite to appear on triple j’s prestigious Like A Version.

Where CK feels at home is on stage, spreading his word and uncontainable energy to audiences nationally. Extensive touring has seen the wordsmith take to the road with the likes of Earl Sweatshirt, Danny Brown, Run The Jewels, Wiz Khalifa, Public Enemy and Tkay Maizda and perform at Falls Festival and Groovin' The Moo.

Keep your ego in check with this introspective party track, it's easily Citizen Kay's best work yet.

Sydney band GRILL release single 'DIRTY TWO'....funky grooves with prog-rock

Sydney four-piece, Grill, have summoned the Gods of Groove to manifest the funk within your soul with their new independent release single 'Dirty Two'  .

Created for the singular intention of getting down on the dance floor, Dirty Two is a tasteful blend of thunderous funk grooves of Funky Knuckles, with the gnarly rock guitars of King Crimson.

I like to describe Dirty Two as a thick fluid of funk, that's snaking through a solid rock backbone.” Andres, Guitarist of Grill.

Grill have again chosen to address deeper concepts in their latest release with Dirty Two’s lyrics, “You’re made to be blind, by design" depicting a society absent from social and cultural awareness. Grill previously released their debut album “ The Eternal Presence” in April which symbolised the relationship between Man and Earth.

"The new single flows through a variety of sonic soundscapes, leaving a trail of funk-fuelled destruction wherever it goes." - Happy Mag

A band that makes you think” - Permafrost

There is a LOT of good progressive music being made around this globe; this album is VERY good progressive music.” - Progressive Rock Fanatics

Sydney-based groove-rock band Wolves In Fashion release debut EP "Dance With Your Shadows"

Wolves In Fashion (WiF) are a Sydney band proficient in the art of groove-rock. Made up of five quirky, sometimes charming men in their twenties, WiF fuses a plethora of different musical influences to generate sounds that are both immediately familiar yet distinctly their own. From awkward encounters with the opposite sex to lonely nights spent contemplating their mortality, the music is honest, memorable and distinctly unique.

Their Debut EP "Dance With Your Shadows" came out July 7th  and was produced by Nathan Sheehy (Birds of Tokyo, Dune Rats). The first track "Moving On" has already been added to a number of Spotify/Soundcloud playlists including ndiemono(1.1 million Followers) and Spotify's Fresh Finds list as well as added to rotation on UK radio and sat in The Unearthed top 10 for over a month.
