Central Coast-based indie-rock trio IVY release fuzz-laden frenetic new cut ‘Sinners Grin’

Central Coast-based indie-rock trio IVY have recently released their fuzz-laden frenetic new cut ‘Sinners Grin’ – produced by Mitta Norath (Endless Heights, Introvert, Eat Your Heart Out)

Combining hard-hitting garage-infused rock n’ roll with psychedelic and blues inspired riffs, ‘Sinners Grin’ is another huge leap forward for the group, made up of its unapologetic walls of searing guitars, thumping rhythmic section and howling hooks from charismatic front man Kane Brown.

Since 2015 inception, IVY have become a mainstay on the East Coast touring and boutique festival circuit, supporting Violent Soho, British India and The Delta Riggs, and gracing the stages of Bluesfest, Mountain Sounds Festival and Snowtunes. Their previous tracks have been supported by the likes of triple j, MTV and worldwide radio.

I love the punch this has and it's high energy”. - Claire Mooney - triple j (AUS)

Prepared to be entranced in some quality indie rock swagger”.

Desert Moons unveil melancholy debut single ‘ROUGH TRADE’

NSW Central Coast-based indie-electronic duo, Desert Moons (Brothers Jake and Simon Dobson), have just revealed their self-produced debut single ‘Rough Trade’ - recorded at their home studio.

Combining beautifully crafted organic and electronic instrumentation, ‘Rough Trade’ is a stunning eclectic piece of experimental-electronica that melds themes of dark dream-pop, indie-rock and hip-hop; taking cues from the likes of their staple influences Radiohead, M83 and Daniel Johns.

Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Jake Dobson describes the creative process behind ‘Rough Trade’ –

“This track was originally an idea of Simon’s conceived in our home studio. We sent it back and forth to each other over a period of a week, until it became what you hear today. We had a lot of fun with this song. We tend to always produce our favourite works when we’re evenly collaborating. The lyrical theme is an ode to my past struggles with motivation. Writing songs has always been an incredibly therapeutic process and this was certainly no different; ultimately serving as a catharsis.”

Both Jake and Simon have been playing and performing music since an early age. They’ve worked as session musicians in the studio and live, as well as releasing music and touring the world with their bands. Desert Moons is the first project the brothers have collaborated on as a duo and was formed with the intention of exploring song crafting boundaries. They’ve written and recorded over thirty songs, which they plan to roll out over the coming months.

To celebrate the release of their debut track, the group have also announced their maiden performance to take place at Rare Finds #33 held at Oxford Art Factory’s Gallery Bar, Sydney on Friday September 29.

BAD FRENCH - NEW SINGLE ‘ALL YOUR DAYS ARE HERE WHERE YOU ARE NOW’

Following on from releasing their standout singles ‘Finley’s Downfall’, ‘Erroll’s Forest’ and ‘Within You’, Central Coast-based dance-pop duo, Bad French, have just returned by revealing their brand-new cut ‘All Your Days Are Here Where You Are Now’.

Stream the track on SOUNDCLOUD Here

Recorded and produced by the band themselves between their Sydney and Central Coast home studios, ‘All Your Days Are Here Where You Are Now’ is another intriguing slice of 80’s inspired electro-pop glimmering with moments of psychedelia and reminiscent to some of the group’s staple influences Tame Impala, AIR and Icehouse.

Song-writer / multi-instrumentalist, M. Carney describes the creative and recording process for ‘All Your Days Are Here Where You Are Now’:-

“Dan kicked off the musical idea one lazy afternoon in his studio at MacMasters Beach on an acoustic guitar with a chilled-out drum beat. I "Bad Frenchified" it with some stabby synths and found a drony pulsing bass sound to sit underneath. The chorus was at first an offbeat melodic idea, but Dan matched his words to it, and it became quite an unusual musical mantra that has grown on us over time. We then decided go to Jupiter and back with the instrumental!”

Their previous singles have received support from local online press, community radio and triple j Unearthed. The group have also performed shows supporting the likes of I Know Leopard, Polish Club, Boo Seeka and have even held their own gigs on front man Daniel Forsyth’s front lawn.

Over the coming months the band will continue to work on new material and perform around Sydney and the NSW Central Coast.

‘All Your Days Are Here Where You Are Now’ is now available to stream via Soundcloud and available via Spotify, Apple Music and all other good digital retailers.
