acoustic-folk artist Kim Churchill new EP release 'FORGETTING'..emotively-driven and solemn

Kim Churchill is proud to reveal his new EP; 'FORGETTING'. Produced by Colin Stewart (Yukon Blonde / Dan Mangan) and written and recorded entirely on Vancouver Island, 'FORGETTING' is the second in a four-part series, where each EP was written and recorded in a different country in collaboration with local artists and producers.

“Canada is a country of extremes”, says Kim. “The huge, dramatic cliffs on one side and a perfectly calm and tranquil lake on the other. The startling reds and oranges of the fall compared with the brilliant greens of summer, the blinding white of the snow in winter, Canada is a country that really showcases its natural beauty. I wanted to capture that feeling of being simultaneously awed and overwhelmed by the power of nature and the comfort and safety of being embraced by it”.

‘FORGETTING’ features six tracks of emotively-driven and solemn acoustic-folk, which at times largely shines a light on the beauty in cracks and flaws. It’s sonically rustic, mesmerising and carries a strong sense of bona fide endearment that Kim has become widely known for. A stunning cover of Coldplay’s ‘See You Soon’ is included on the record.

A traveller as much as an artist, Kim has lived on the road for years, but it was no longer enough just to pass through; for Kim it was time to show that world in his songs. This is Kim showing the value of a new way of thinking, of writing … of living.

The exciting and unique project will also see Kim release an additional two EP’s over time, that were written and recorded in Australia and the UK respectively. This follows on from his critically acclaimed EP ‘I AM’ – the first record of the four-part series that was written and recorded in Berlin, Germany.

American-Australian artist Robert Rothko releases acoustic version of classic “Down Under”

From opera in Vienna to pop in Los Angeles, American-Australian artist Robert Rothko combines modern music sensibilities with old-school charm. Robert lends his polished sound to bring you classic favorites as well as his own contemporary originals.

Robert is a singer/songwriter who moved to Melbourne from the US a little over a year ago. He met an Aussie girl in California - and that was that. Now they're getting married in Melbourne in March! His fiancee is a writer for the LA Times, and there was actually a column published about their relationship.

He has also just released his own acoustic version of the classic Men At Work Aussie "anthem" Down Under. I think Colin Hay would highly approve!

Recorded live, first or second take, this spontaneous session involved no rehearsal or pre-production.

Ashton has spent the past 30 years touring Australia and Europe, recording with some of the biggest names in blues and rock including musicians from Deep Purple, Robert Plant’s and Rory Gallagher’s bands and touring with artists such as Buddy Guy, Mick Taylor, Peter Green and many more. Emerging Female Indigenous EDM Prouducer Releases First Single "Love" (Soulella Remix)

SOULELLA RELEASES DEBUT TRACK - LOVE (SOULELLA REMIX)

Australian Aboriginal culture has brought the world music through some iconic and legendary musicians from a variety of different genres such as country, reggae, rock, hip hop, indie, folk, soul and much more. However, it is very rare if not unheard of to find an Indigenous artist who is female and has a passion for writing, composing, performing and producing EDM in particular TRANCE. . . except for Soulella, she does it all!

Soulella (pronounced Soh-ella) is one of the very few of Australia's first emerging female Indigenous Electronic Dance Music (EDM) composer & producer of trance music. Hailing from Kununurra, a small country town in the Kimberley's far north of Western Australia, she has only been producing EDM for a little under a year since her move to the big smoke of Sydney. She found her passion for producing EDM since beginning her Bachelor of Music with a major in Composition and Music Production at the Australian Institute of Music.

Otherwise known as Thaylia (Contemporary Folk Singer/Songwriter) she is also a vocalist and acoustic guitar guitar player but more recently has found her LOVE for producing electronic dance music and now she is ready to introduce herself along with her first track called Love (Soulella Remix). The track is a remix of an original folk song she wrote and released in 2014 called Love and was written, produced and mixed by Soulella.
